La Biennale di Venezia

La Biennale began in 1895 as a contemporary visual art exhibition with a bi-annual schedule (hence the “biennial” name). It is the original biennale on which others around the world have been modeled. The organization that is responsible for the event has since grown into a parent company known as “Biennale Foundation” and uses its resources to support the arts at large. Currently, Biennale Foundation organizes 6 separate events:
